The Essentials

Client Policies

What to expect when we work together.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Policies aren’t the warmest part of starting therapy — but clear expectations are their own kind of care. Knowing ahead of time how scheduling, sessions, and privacy work means fewer surprises later, and more of our time spent on what actually matters: you. We go over all of this together when you begin services, and you’re welcome to ask about any of it, any time.

Scheduling

Sessions are scheduled directly with your clinician, at a rhythm that fits your life — including evening and weekend availability. Many families find a standing time helps care become a habit rather than a hurdle, but there’s no one right way; we’ll find what works.

Cancellations & Missed Sessions

Life with families is beautifully unpredictable — we know. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice when you can; that time was set aside for you, and with notice it can be offered to another family. Sessions cancelled with less notice, and missed sessions, may be billed — but if something unexpected happens, reach out. We’d always rather talk it through than send a bill.

Telehealth

Most services happen by secure telehealth. For your session, find a private, quiet spot and a reliable connection — and note that you’ll need to be physically located in Massachusetts during therapy sessions. If technology fails mid-session, your clinician will call you at the number on file, and we’ll pick up right where we left off — or reschedule.

Illness

One of telehealth’s quiet gifts: a cold doesn’t have to cost you your session. If you’re feeling unwell but up for talking, we can usually meet as planned. If you’re not up for it, that’s a conversation, not a penalty — let us know and we’ll find a new time.

YOUR PRIVACY

Confidentiality Comes First

How your health information is handled is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices; how this website handles information is covered by our Privacy Policy. Questions about either are always welcome — privacy is the foundation everything else here rests on.

If anything here is unclear, or your situation needs something these policies don’t cover, just ask.
